Electoral Constituency

Senators are elected by universal, secret and obligatory suffrage. The representation is achieved through a proportional system that will integrate collegial bodies.

This will give grants to every opinion a number of representatives proportional to the number of its adherents.

Both Chambers dictate the Electoral Law which is uniform throughout the Province. The provisions to which it is subject are: the Province is divided into administrative areas, each one represents an electoral district. The districts are grouped into electoral sections. Each section must choose at least three senators and six deputies. The electors vote in their electoral district of residence.

The province of Buenos Aires has 307,571 km² in length. According to the latest census conducted in 2001, its population is fourteen million. Electorally, the province is divided into eight sections.

In the Province of Buenos Aires are eight electoral districts. The capital of the Province is one of them.
